Cellular monitoring offers people who do not have a lan line phone connection installed in their home to still get monitored service. It provides additional protection to homeowners with a lan line phone connection to offer a back up communication medium if the phone line is cut. Using an additional piece of equipment called a Cell Unit, the control panel is able to communicate with the monitoring station through a cellular connection.
